I Keep Queer Kids Safe By Helping Parents Grow

Hello, world.

The official launch of this project is still over two weeks away, but I had to pause today and reflect on what I’ve done up to this point to make it happen.

I’ve been working before and after my regular job for months to construct a curriculum of safety, repair, joy, advocacy, humor, boundaries, disability justice, and queer protection; all built from lived experience, grief, love, and an absolutely FERAL amount of heart.

Social media wants me to say I “created content.” But what I really did was build an infrastructure using a straight parent voice that never centers itself, yet is deeply credible.

I’ve literally packaged the “thing” they mean when members of the LGBTQ+ community say, “I wish someone had explained this to my parents.”

And I did it without demonizing faith, shaming parents, flattening queer kids, sacrificing accessibility, or abandoning my own voice.

It’s not an easy task.

So I had to pause here, and really let it land.

I turned grief into guidance.

I turned chaos into curriculum.

I turned love into something actionable.

The fact that this is dangerous to the status quo in the best possible way is not lost on me, but I don’t care.

I’m the woman who keeps queer kids safe by helping parents grow.

And I can’t wait to share my knowledge with you.
